How to Clone Images Using Photoscape Clone Stamp

This is a Photoscape tutorial showing how to use the Cloning Stamp.

The clone stamp feature on Photoscape is a quick way to clone images in photographs and pictures. Just as the name implies, it clones or makes a copy of an original. For example I have a photo of a dog. I can quickly clone the original dog and make two or even three identical dogs in that one photo!
The clone stamp is yet another fun way to use Photoscape. Here's how you use the clone stamp.

Open Photoscape and choose "Editor". Select a photo from the viewer on the left. Your chosen photo will appear in the canvas area. Note: This photo is public domain and provided free by PublicDomainPictures.net.

Click on the "Tools" tab. Click "Clone Stamp". The cursor pointer will change into a dashed circle.

Click on the image inside the photo you want cloned. The dashed circle will "stick" in that position on the image. Move and position your mouse on the area of the photo where you want the clone to be located and click. A second dashed circle will appear. It will become the brush and follow the mouse pointer around. The two circles will be joined together by a dashed line between them.

To clone the original image, press and hold down the mouse button and move it around the area. You will notice the original is being copied to where the mouse is being moved.

Specifically the area inside the first dashed circle is being cloned to the area you chose as you "brush" by moving the mouse around. To stop cloning, click the right mouse button.

To start cloning again, click the spot you want cloned from the original image. Continue to hold down the mouse key and move it accross the area until you're done. Again, click the right mouse button to get rid of the the cloning circle (brush) pair.

Note: You can use the mouse wheel to change the size of the clone brush as you're cloning. If you get into some tight areas, you can clone dimly by holding down the shift key as you clone. Also, you can also press the "Escape" key on the keyboard to cancel cloning. Pressing "Alt" on the keyboard with a click also stops the cloning mode.

Do any additional photo editing to your photograph if you wish. Then press the "Save" button to save it to your computer. Then press the "Save" button to save it to your computer.

I cloned one more dog into my photo and added some extra art that's included with Photoscape. LOL.

Happy Photo Editing!

PhotoScape is an awesome tool for photo editing and it's free photo editing program that has enough features and tools that anyone serious about their pictures will surely want to take a look. Although not at the same level as Photoshop, it comes about as close as any free photo editor can and, although it doesn’t look great, performs a great deal better than many of the alternatives.

Thanks for your tutorial. Image editing is the phase of selecting a series of photographs that will be used as part of a photo project. This essential step makes it possible to isolate photographs which will tell a story. For a photographer, it is a very difficult task; he must decide which images to put aside for the moment, and which images to save for the specific project.

Keep up giving such tutorials.
